Stony Brook University's Licensed Fumigation Team

Fumigation treats the whole structure under a sealed tent, reaching infestations spread throughout the building; spot treatment targets specific accessible areas. We're happy to answer questions about the process before you commit to anything, including whether a less invasive option might work instead.

Typically a few days, depending on structure size and clearance requirements — we give exact dates during scheduling.

Food, medication, and certain plants generally need removal or special bagging — we provide a full checklist ahead of time.

Yes — licensed fumigation follows strict regulatory protocol designed to treat structures safely.

Clearance testing measures gas levels before tents come down, and re-entry isn't approved until levels are fully safe. We can also coordinate with a pest control service on neighboring units if your building shares structural framing.

A follow-up inspection and any needed exclusion work help protect against future issues. We recommend checking with attached structures before scheduling, since shared framing can affect fumigation planning.
