Princeton's Seasonal Barrier Treatment Team

Most treatments stay effective around 21 days, which is why seasonal programs schedule on that cycle.

Both — barrier spray handles adults while larvicide treats standing water we can't drain. A single missed water source nearby can shorten how long a barrier treatment stays effective, so we always ask about the whole surrounding area, not just the yard itself.

We use products labeled safe for treated areas once dry, and flag any specific concerns during scheduling.

Event treatment is common; we time application to peak effectiveness for your date.

Ponds usually need larvicide rather than barrier spray, since spray doesn't reach larvae developing in water. A few landscaping adjustments between visits can meaningfully extend how long a barrier treatment stays effective.

A three-week cycle is typical, though heavier rain sometimes calls for tighter scheduling. We recommend a yard check after heavy rain, since new standing water shows up in unexpected places.
