A trap catches what's already inside; a sealed gap is what stops the next one from moving in — our Wurtland, KY crew does both in one visit. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed insulation and wiring are real risks we flag on every inspection. Thoroughness on the sealing side matters as much as the trapping itself for a lasting result.
Sealing a quarter-inch gap takes different training than setting a trap, and that's specifically what our technicians do.
We move quickly on new reports in Wurtland, since delay usually just means a bigger job later.
You'll know the full cost before anything's installed, priced off what the inspection actually finds.
We carry hardware cloth and rodent-proof sealant built for exclusion, not consumer-grade traps alone. We also photograph every sealed entry point before and after, so you have documentation of the exclusion work done.
Norway rats burrow at grade, so we work the foundation perimeter and deck footings, not just the attic.
Attic access almost always traces back to a roofline or eave gap, which is where sealing starts.
Mice need only a quarter-inch opening, so we check utility penetrations and door sweeps closely.
Cleanup follows industry biohazard handling standards, not a quick vacuum and call it done.
Hardware cloth, sweeps, and vent screens go in to physically block re-entry — not a temporary patch.
Scheduled station checks with logged records for property managers who need documentation on file. We also check attic access panels and garage door seals, since those are common secondary entry points during follow-ups.
A quick description of the noise and location shapes which trap and sealing materials we bring.
We come prepared to trap and seal together, not schedule a separate trip for materials.
Inspection identifies both species and access points — foundation to roofline — before we quote anything.
You get trapping, exclusion, and a documented recheck — not just traps left behind.
Months of store-bought traps got us nowhere. Technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. Three roofline gaps sealed and the noise stopped within days.
We manage six buildings — they service all of them on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated them explaining rat versus mouse signs before quoting anything. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and our electrician confirmed no further risk.
We dispatch across Wurtland and nearby Wurtland, KY areas, with priority routing toward older homes and properties bordering open lots. We track seasonal rodent migration patterns around Wurtland to anticipate calls before they spike. We also keep records of prior exclusion work at a property, which speeds up diagnosis if a new gap opens up in a different spot later.
Gnaw-mark size and dropping shape usually settle it, and the technician confirms on inspection. A full inspection covers roofline and chimney access alongside the foundation, since rodents use whichever gap is easiest.
Exclusion is the permanent piece; trapping without it just resets the clock. A thorough seal job on the first visit is what actually prevents a second call a few months later, which is why we'd rather spend extra time sealing than rush to the next job.
Dry sweeping can release airborne particles, so it's safer to leave cleanup to the visit.
Most homes wrap in one visit for trapping and sealing, with a follow-up a week or two out to confirm.
Mechanical trapping and sealing come first, especially around pets and kids; bait stations are reserved for specific situations like commercial perimeters.
Pet food left out and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag on inspection. We recommend a seasonal walk-around of the foundation, since freeze-thaw cycles can open new gaps.
Trapping and sealing in the same visit beats a cycle of traps that never quite finish the job.
