A trap catches what's already inside; a sealed gap is what stops the next one from moving in — our Meridian, PA crew does both in one visit. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed insulation and wiring are real risks we flag on every inspection. Thoroughness on the sealing side matters as much as the trapping itself for a lasting result.
Sealing a quarter-inch gap takes different training than setting a trap, and that's specifically what our technicians do.
We move quickly on new reports in Meridian, since delay usually just means a bigger job later.
You'll know the full cost before anything's installed, priced off what the inspection actually finds.
We carry hardware cloth and rodent-proof sealant built for exclusion, not consumer-grade traps alone. Each job comes with before-and-after photos of the sealed gaps.
Norway rats burrow at grade, so we work the foundation perimeter and deck footings, not just the attic.
Attic access almost always traces back to a roofline or eave gap, which is where sealing starts.
Mice need only a quarter-inch opening, so we check utility penetrations and door sweeps closely.
Contaminated insulation and droppings get removed and the space sanitized once trapping wraps up.
Exclusion means a barrier the animal can't simply chew back through.
Recurring service for multi-unit properties comes with a written check-in schedule, not an occasional drive-by. A seasonal walk-around of the foundation catches new gaps that open after freeze-thaw cycles.
A quick description of the noise and location shapes which trap and sealing materials we bring.
We come prepared to trap and seal together, not schedule a separate trip for materials.
Inspection identifies both species and access points — foundation to roofline — before we quote anything.
Traps go out, gaps get sealed, and we schedule a follow-up check to confirm the population's cleared.
Months of store-bought traps got us nowhere. Technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. Three roofline gaps sealed and the noise stopped within days.
We manage six buildings — they service all of them on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated them explaining rat versus mouse signs before quoting anything. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and our electrician confirmed no further risk.
We dispatch across Meridian and nearby Meridian, PA areas, with priority routing toward older homes and properties bordering open lots. Properties near open fields or construction sites in Meridian tend to see rodent pressure spike seasonally, which shapes our routing. A documented history of past sealing work helps the next technician quickly rule out already-addressed entry points.
Rat droppings run larger, roughly rice-grain size or bigger; mouse droppings are smaller and more pointed, and noise timing differs too. A full inspection covers roofline and chimney access alongside the foundation, since rodents use whichever gap is easiest.
Exclusion is the permanent piece; trapping without it just resets the clock. A thorough seal job on the first visit is what actually prevents a second call a few months later, which is why we'd rather spend extra time sealing than rush to the next job.
We'd wait — disturbed droppings can aerosolize particles, and our crew handles that with proper PPE.
A typical job is a single day plus a short recheck window.
We lean on traps and exclusion before rodenticide in most residential jobs.
Pet food left out and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag on inspection. It's worth checking your attic access panel periodically, since that's a common secondary entry point we find at follow-ups.
Trapping and sealing in the same visit beats a cycle of traps that never quite finish the job.
