A trap catches what's already inside; a sealed gap is what stops the next one from moving in — our York, SC crew does both in one visit. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed insulation and wiring are real risks we flag on every inspection. Thoroughness on the sealing side matters as much as the trapping itself for a lasting result.
Our team treats this as construction work as much as pest control — hardware cloth, sealant, door sweeps, not just bait.
We move quickly on new reports in York, since delay usually just means a bigger job later.
Inspection sets one number covering both trap placement and exclusion work — no separate invoice for each.
Snap traps, one-way exclusion doors, thermal imaging for nest zones, and sanitation gear for the cleanup after. We also photograph every sealed entry point before and after, so you have documentation of the exclusion work done.
Norway rats burrow at grade, so we work the foundation perimeter and deck footings, not just the attic.
Attic access almost always traces back to a roofline or eave gap, which is where sealing starts.
A mouse job lives or dies on finding every small gap — one missed opening undoes the rest.
Contaminated insulation and droppings get removed and the space sanitized once trapping wraps up.
Hardware cloth, sweeps, and vent screens go in to physically block re-entry — not a temporary patch.
Recurring service for multi-unit properties comes with a written check-in schedule, not an occasional drive-by. A seasonal walk-around of the foundation catches new gaps that open after freeze-thaw cycles.
A quick description of the noise and location shapes which trap and sealing materials we bring.
We come prepared to trap and seal together, not schedule a separate trip for materials.
We trace droppings and gnaw marks back to the entry point and map every gap that needs sealing.
You get trapping, exclusion, and a documented recheck — not just traps left behind.
Months of store-bought traps got us nowhere. Technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. Three roofline gaps sealed and the noise stopped within days.
We manage six buildings — they service all of them on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated them explaining rat versus mouse signs before quoting anything. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and our electrician confirmed no further risk.
We dispatch across York and nearby York, SC areas, with priority routing toward older homes and properties bordering open lots. Properties near open fields or construction sites in York tend to see rodent pressure spike seasonally, which shapes our routing. A documented history of past sealing work helps the next technician quickly rule out already-addressed entry points.
Rat droppings run larger, roughly rice-grain size or bigger; mouse droppings are smaller and more pointed, and noise timing differs too. We also inspect the roofline and chimney area during a standard visit, since those are entry points homeowners rarely think to check themselves.
Yes — trapping clears what's inside now, but sealing is what keeps the next one from moving in. We'd rather take the extra time to seal every gap properly than leave one open and get a callback in a few months.
Dry sweeping can release airborne particles, so it's safer to leave cleanup to the visit.
Most homes wrap in one visit for trapping and sealing, with a follow-up a week or two out to confirm.
We lean on traps and exclusion before rodenticide in most residential jobs.
Pet food left out and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag on inspection. We recommend a seasonal walk-around of the foundation, since freeze-thaw cycles can open new gaps.
Trapping and sealing in the same visit beats a cycle of traps that never quite finish the job.
