A trap catches what's already inside; a sealed gap is what stops the next one from moving in — our McNair, VA crew does both in one visit. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed insulation and wiring are real risks we flag on every inspection. Thoroughness on the sealing side matters as much as the trapping itself for a lasting result.
Our team treats this as construction work as much as pest control — hardware cloth, sealant, door sweeps, not just bait.
We move quickly on new reports in McNair, since delay usually just means a bigger job later.
You'll know the full cost before anything's installed, priced off what the inspection actually finds.
Snap traps, one-way exclusion doors, thermal imaging for nest zones, and sanitation gear for the cleanup after. Each job comes with before-and-after photos of the sealed gaps.
Ground-level rats mean foundation gaps and vent screens get priority in the sealing plan.
Roof rats travel power lines and branches into attics — we seal soffits and roofline gaps specifically.
A mouse job lives or dies on finding every small gap — one missed opening undoes the rest.
Cleanup follows industry biohazard handling standards, not a quick vacuum and call it done.
Hardware cloth, sweeps, and vent screens go in to physically block re-entry — not a temporary patch.
Recurring service for multi-unit properties comes with a written check-in schedule, not an occasional drive-by. A seasonal walk-around of the foundation catches new gaps that open after freeze-thaw cycles.
Tell us where you're hearing it — attic, wall, kitchen — and whether you've seen droppings or gnaw marks.
The technician shows up with both trapping and sealing supplies loaded, ready to handle it in one visit.
We trace droppings and gnaw marks back to the entry point and map every gap that needs sealing.
Traps go out, gaps get sealed, and we schedule a follow-up check to confirm the population's cleared.
Months of store-bought traps got us nowhere. Technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. Three roofline gaps sealed and the noise stopped within days.
We manage six buildings — they service all of them on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated them explaining rat versus mouse signs before quoting anything. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and our electrician confirmed no further risk.
Coverage includes McNair and the surrounding region, weighted toward the property types that see the most rodent pressure. We track seasonal rodent migration patterns around McNair to anticipate calls before they spike. We also keep records of prior exclusion work at a property, which speeds up diagnosis if a new gap opens up in a different spot later.
Gnaw-mark size and dropping shape usually settle it, and the technician confirms on inspection. A full inspection covers roofline and chimney access alongside the foundation, since rodents use whichever gap is easiest.
Exclusion is the permanent piece; trapping without it just resets the clock. We'd rather take the extra time to seal every gap properly than leave one open and get a callback in a few months.
Dry sweeping can release airborne particles, so it's safer to leave cleanup to the visit.
Most homes wrap in one visit for trapping and sealing, with a follow-up a week or two out to confirm.
Mechanical trapping and sealing come first, especially around pets and kids; bait stations are reserved for specific situations like commercial perimeters.
Pet food left out and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag on inspection. It's worth checking your attic access panel periodically, since that's a common secondary entry point we find at follow-ups.
