A trap catches what's already inside; a sealed gap is what stops the next one from moving in — our Sumter, SC crew does both in one visit. Beyond droppings and noise, chewed insulation and wiring are real risks we flag on every inspection. A single missed gap can undo weeks of otherwise successful trapping and sealing work.
Our team treats this as construction work as much as pest control — hardware cloth, sealant, door sweeps, not just bait.
We move quickly on new reports in Sumter, since delay usually just means a bigger job later.
You'll know the full cost before anything's installed, priced off what the inspection actually finds.
We carry hardware cloth and rodent-proof sealant built for exclusion, not consumer-grade traps alone. Each job comes with before-and-after photos of the sealed gaps.
Ground-level rats mean foundation gaps and vent screens get priority in the sealing plan.
Attic access almost always traces back to a roofline or eave gap, which is where sealing starts.
A mouse job lives or dies on finding every small gap — one missed opening undoes the rest.
Contaminated insulation and droppings get removed and the space sanitized once trapping wraps up.
Exclusion means a barrier the animal can't simply chew back through.
Scheduled station checks with logged records for property managers who need documentation on file. A seasonal walk-around of the foundation catches new gaps that open after freeze-thaw cycles.
Tell us where you're hearing it — attic, wall, kitchen — and whether you've seen droppings or gnaw marks.
We come prepared to trap and seal together, not schedule a separate trip for materials.
Inspection identifies both species and access points — foundation to roofline — before we quote anything.
You get trapping, exclusion, and a documented recheck — not just traps left behind.
Months of store-bought traps got us nowhere. Technician found the actual gap under our deck ledger in twenty minutes.
Roof rats in the attic for weeks. Three roofline gaps sealed and the noise stopped within days.
We manage six buildings — they service all of them on a schedule and send logs I can hand to ownership.
Appreciated them explaining rat versus mouse signs before quoting anything. Didn't feel like a guessing game.
Two units in our building had chewed wiring behind the stove. Exclusion work solved it and our electrician confirmed no further risk.
We dispatch across Sumter and nearby Sumter, SC areas, with priority routing toward older homes and properties bordering open lots. We track seasonal rodent migration patterns around Sumter to anticipate calls before they spike. A documented history of past sealing work helps the next technician quickly rule out already-addressed entry points.
Rat droppings run larger, roughly rice-grain size or bigger; mouse droppings are smaller and more pointed, and noise timing differs too. A full inspection covers roofline and chimney access alongside the foundation, since rodents use whichever gap is easiest.
Yes — trapping clears what's inside now, but sealing is what keeps the next one from moving in. We'd rather take the extra time to seal every gap properly than leave one open and get a callback in a few months.
Dry sweeping can release airborne particles, so it's safer to leave cleanup to the visit.
A typical job is a single day plus a short recheck window.
Mechanical trapping and sealing come first, especially around pets and kids; bait stations are reserved for specific situations like commercial perimeters.
Pet food left out and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag on inspection. It's worth checking your attic access panel periodically, since that's a common secondary entry point we find at follow-ups.
Trapping and sealing in the same visit beats a cycle of traps that never quite finish the job.
